Tako Koning | Petroleum Geologist

I am a semi-retired petroleum geologist, Holland-born and Canada-raised, graduating with bachelor’s degrees in both geology and economics in the early 1970’s.  I worked in oil and gas exploration and development in Canada but also for thirty years in Indonesia, Nigeria and Angola.   The twinning of the Trans Mountain Pipeline (TMX) exemplifies the complexities of energy development in today’s times.  The world’s consumption of energy grows yearly due to an ever-increasing, energy-hungry population.  Everyone wants moderate cost, secure and reliable energy.  No one wants to live under conditions of energy poverty like most of Africa.  About the TMX pipeline, I leave it up to you to judge on the merits, the pluses and minuses of this project. Tako will be speaking after the screening of Pipsell: The Last Stand.
