Sandy Wood, Friend of the Jhamtse Gatsal Community
Sandy Wood (she/her) spent ten years closely connected to Jhamtse Gatsal in her teens and twenties. She served as a member of the Jhamtse International board of directors, ran the sponsorship program for several years, fundraised for and visited the community every summer during her time at university, and lived and taught at Jhamtse Gatsal for three years after her graduation.
The Jhamtse community is close to her heart and her time there has been a foundational experience in her life. She currently lives in Calgary, teaching preschool and parenting her dynamic 4-year-old, who joined her on a trip to visit her friends in the Himalayas after his first birthday.
