Rowan Fisher, Executive Director

Rowan Fisher is the Executive Director of CJFF, former Director of Programs for the Calgary Immigrant Women's Association (CIWA), and a former Managing Lawyer. In addition to being well regarded for her legal practice and firm leadership, she was the 2023-2025 Chair of the Canadian Bar Association, Alberta South Immigration Section. Winner of the 2023 Calgary Chamber of Commerce SureCall Community Champion Award and the 2024 Diversity Leadership Award from Immigrant Champions of Canada, she dedicates her time and energy to building a better place for us all to live.

Her passion for access to justice and human rights, along with her early career years in the arts, led her to CJFF's door. In addition to developing the long term goals and direction of the festival, she works with a wide variety of community and film festival partners to create impactful events and discussions beyond the festival’s doors . Going forward, Rowan would like to support CJFF in becoming a significant cultural landmark in Canada, ensuring continued free access to important and impactful story sharing from around the world - and right here on our doorstep.
