Redfoot, Hip Hop Artist & Filmmaker

Redfoot is a member of the Tsuut’ina Nation. He’s a hip hop artist, filmmaker, photographer and multidisciplinary creator from the Treaty 7 territory, just outside the city of Calgary. With more than two decades behind the microphone, his work brings together hip hop, visual storytelling and lived experience to explore identity, resilience and self-expression.

As a filmmaker, Redfoot’s work includes the short film “Stalker,” which was screened at the Oki Film Festival. Through Limelight Multimedia, his creative work also spans filmmaking, photography, graphic design, audio production and post-production, giving him the ability to tell stories through both sound and image.

As a performer, Redfoot has appeared on stages including the Calgary Folk Music Festival, Chinook Blast, Cowboys Music Festival, Tsuut’ina Day and Indigenous music events in Edmonton and Vancouver. His music is grounded in lyricism and storytelling, while challenging expectations of what an Indigenous artist is supposed to look or sound like.

Redfoot is also the founder of YYC Mixtape Club, a collaborative project bringing together Calgary artists and producers of all experience levels to create, connect and build community through hip hop. Whether through music, film or photography, storytelling remains at the centre of his work.
