Paula Smith | Piikani Nation

Paula Smith, also known by her Blackfoot name Otsskoipiiks'aakii (Blue Bird Woman), is the Indigenous Relations Manager at The Confluence Historic Site & Parkland in Calgary. A member of the Piikani Nation within the Blackfoot Confederacy, she has dedicated her life to preserving and sharing Blackfoot culture, heritage, and traditions. Paula holds a degree in Native American Studies from the University of Lethbridge and has extensive experience working within Blackfoot Territory (Mohkinstsis/Calgary). We are grateful to have Paula at the Calgary Justice Film Festival, where she will share her insights on Niitsitapi and Ujjirijvut – We See Changes, exploring Indigenous storytelling, culture, and resilience.
