CJFF is located on the traditional territories of the Niitsitapi (Blackfoot) and the people of Treaty 7, which include the Siksika, Piikani, Kainai, Tsuut’ina, and the Îyârhe Nakoda Nations of Bearspaw, Chiniki, and Goodstoney. These lands are also home to the Otipemisiwak Métis Government (Districts 5 and 6).

We sit at The Confluence, in an area the Niitsitapi call Moh’kinsstis, where the Bow River meets the Elbow River. We own our responsibility to listen, learn, and ensure that the stories we share, and the dialogues we create through justice-focused documentaries, contribute meaningfully to reconciliation and understanding on this sacred land.
