Maria Hart, Multidisciplinary Artist

Maria Hart is an emerging multidisciplinary artist who is inspired by her own lived experiences and the multifaceted perspectives of disabled women. While trying to cope with the changes in her own functioning, Maria has found a lack of acceptable social narratives for becoming a disabled mother, which she hopes to change with her work. Drawing from her former career as a social worker, Maria’s work showcases themes relating to systemic oppression, reflections relating to the status quo, social unlearning, and grief and loss.
