Kyle Young Pine | Healing Through Movement, Inspiring Through Tradition

Kyle Young Pine is a Recovery Coach with Recovery Coaches Alberta and a dedicated recovery advocate. He is also a Red Seal plumber and gasfitter, and a devoted father to his 10-year-old son, Phoenix.

Through workshops, performances, and community outreach, Kyle uses movement, story, and culture to help others reconnect with their identities, overcome addiction, and find strength in tradition. His approach blends lived experience with the teachings of his Blackfoot heritage, creating spaces where people can heal together and rediscover their sense of belonging.

Kyle’s path to this work began in Calgary, where skateboarding first offered him freedom and connection during a challenging youth. His journey of self-discovery deepened when he found Fancy Feather Dancing , a powerful art form that allowed him to express, transform, and share his culture.

That journey is captured in the multi-award-winning documentary Piita Aapasskaan (pronounced bee·daa bee·sats·bee), The Kyle Young Pine Story, which parallels the balance and rhythm of skateboarding with the spiritual and physical flow of dance.

Today, Kyle continues to empower others across Alberta to find healing through creativity, culture, and community — reminding all who meet him that tradition and self-expression are powerful tools for change.
