Joan Ayeah Chufi, Events Coordinator
Joan is excited to work with CJFF as the Events Coordinator. With over four years of experience in program coordination, community engagement, and international development, she brings a strong combination of organizational expertise, analytical thinking, and a commitment to inclusive, community-centred work. She is fluent in English and French and holds graduate-level training in Development & International Relations and Gender & Project Management.
Joan has served as a Program Coordinator with the Intentional Well-Being Foundation in Calgary, where she coordinated workshops and events, strengthened participant engagement through structured feedback systems, and streamlined logistics and vendor management to improve efficiency while maintaining program quality. Her ability to design effective workflows and translate participant feedback into meaningful program improvements has consistently supported positive event experiences. Her professional background also includes international roles in Cameroon with Hope for Children International and AfriTech Hub, where she coordinated community programs, managed complex schedules and documentation, supported multidisciplinary teams, and delivered training workshops reaching hundreds of participants. Through this work, Joan developed a strong appreciation for cross-cultural collaboration and community-led engagement, values that closely align with CJFF’s mission.
Joan looks forward to developing CJFF’s events and helping the festival continue to grow, connect, and engage audiences across Calgary.
