Diego Machado | Former Human Rights Lawyer

Diego Machado, born in Bogotá, Colombia, is a former human rights lawyer who advocated for victims in Colombia’s armed conflict. He immigrated to Canada as skilled worker in 2013 and earned a master’s degree in international law from Université de Sherbrooke in 2016, broadening his understanding of geopolitical issues and local impact.

He has worked across Canada’s private and public sectors, including roles at IRCC and ESDC in the federal Government, and in the provincial governments of Quebec and Alberta. He also worked for a settlement organization in Sherbrooke, Québec and advocates for a better socio-economic integration of immigrants in Canada. Diego will be speaking at LARA - The Man Who Took On Escoba.
