Ademola Adesola, Author and Professor

Dr. Ademola Adesola is an assistant professor at the Department of English, Languages, and Cultures. He completed his first and second degrees in literature at Obafemi Awolowo University, Nigeria. Ademola completed his doctorate at the University of Manitoba, Canada. Dr. Adesola’s research and teaching interests are postcolonial literatures, African and Black diaspora literatures, child soldier narratives, war and literature, popular culture, and human rights. Dr. Adesola has published across these areas. His work includes Representations of Child Soldiers in Contemporary African Narratives (2024) and Dancing with My Tongue (2026). Dr. Adesola is the convener of the annual African and Black Writings in Canada Speaker Series.
