Synopsis:
“Variety” is a documentary about choice, or more accurately, the lack of choice when faced with the reality of having too much choice. The over-abundance of variety in any given consumer product has negative effects on both the consumer and the world at large. Motivated by frustration, filmmaker Ramin Eshraghi-Yazdi attempts to understand variety and find a way to navigate the pitfalls of excessive choice.

Ramin Eshraghi-Yazdi is a Canadian BIPOC award-winning filmmaker and performer based out of Calgary and Montreal. As a writer/producer/director Ramin has over 17 years of experience with projects that have included broadcast commercials, web promo, experimental art installation, short form and feature documentaries, music videos, episodic TV and web, as well as a slew of scripted narrative work. Ramin is inspired by all that is visually stunning, and engaging stories not often told.
